Creative Technology: Coding, Craft, and Community
In this course, students will learn how to make multimedia art with digital technology and computer hardware. Through a hybrid of art project based learning and instruction, the course gives students access to new creative tools, fosters interest in the creative potential of emerging technologies, and cultivates intention and social responsibility in using everyday technologies. Throughout the year, instruction incorporates the work of local artists and encourages students to bring in their own experiences and sources of inspiration.

Harmonizing Futures: AI, Soundscapes, and Resonance
Explore the art of connection through a unique blend of AI, sonic algorithms, and community engagement. From historical town squares to modern virtual spaces, discover how shared experiences can be transformed into immersive soundscapes. This course guides students in reimagining dioramas as dynamic, multidimensional sound boxes that serve as interfaces for communication and connection. By incorporating materials such as AI models, microcontrollers (Arduinos), 3D printing, and found objects, students not only visually represent connectivity with technology, but also audibly express it. This hands-on exploration fosters creativity, collaboration, and a profound understanding of the intersection between art and technology, empowering students to shape a future where their AI creations can link individuals and communities.
